Hon Wesley Korir, former MP for Cherangany, dreamed of a healthier community where vision loss wouldn’t limit potential. Inspired by Psalm 146:8—“The Lord gives sight to the blind”—he founded Transcend to turn this vision into reality, blending global expertise with local care.
Our Launch: A Community Celebration
In February 2025, we opened with a week-long event, screening over 300 patients, performing free surgeries, and offering discounted glasses. Lines stretched around Sibanga Market as people sought clarity—some for the first time in years. By February 13, we were fully operational 24/7, with Dr. Dara Kilmartin leading successful cataract surgeries.
